CAN WE REALLY BE PROUD OF BEING AN INDIAN ????

I am not yet fully proud of my country. I can only be proud when there will be nobody dying due to starvation, nobody uneducated because it is already more than 60 years of independence and the issue of poverty is still not solved. It is useless to talk about space exploration to people who cannot find food and medicine for themselves in spite of the hard work that they do.

‘Free India’ was a dream of all Indians under the British rule. Everyone during that rule fought in some way or the other with a common aim of ending British and other colonial authorities in India. After a century of revolutions, struggle, blood shedding, battles and sacrifices, India finally achieved independence on August 15, 1947.

India was free in 1947 from the British Empire but the country lost many men and women who were filled with undaunted courage and spirit of patriotism. Today, they are known as freedom fighters because they sacrificed their lives for their motherland.

Indian freedom fighters with their true spirit and undaunted courage had faced various tortures, exploitations and hardships to earn us freedom.

The pioneers of the freedom movement were Mangal Pandey, Tantia Tope, Rani of Jhansi and the great Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi who introduced non-violent ways of fighting the enemy. Other notable freedom fighters of India are Annie Besant, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bhagat Singh, Bipin Chandra Pal, Sukhdev, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Chandrashekhar Azad, Sarojini Naidu, Dadabhai Naoroji, Sucheta Kriplani and Chakravarti Rajagopalachari.

There are endless number of men and women other than the above list who daringly fought for India’s freedom.

It is true India got its independance from the British Rule but we are still being ruled by the corrupt politicians and babus who are sucking the blood of the poor in this great country... it is really sad that even after 63 years of Independencendance we have Kashmir burning, naxal wars where the poor naxals are having their land snatched by major corporate companies for mining and other reasons which are in no way benefitting the poor people.. Yes we are becoming a richer nation but only the rich people are becoming more richer and the poor are becoming more poorer... Our basic amenities are in a pitable condition, roads are full of pot holes, there is no place for poor patients in big hospitals, poor people are being uprooted from places where they have been living for ages in the cities and no alternative place is given to them for staying. JAAGO ,JAAGO,JAAGO INDIA, so much corruption is being found in the recent CWG games preparation that it brings the entire country to shame...

This is not the independance that our fore-fathers and our great freedom fighters had dreamed about... WE ARE STILL SLAVES OF THE CORRUPT POLITICIANS AND WE ARE NOT AND CERTAINLY NOT INDEPENDANT.....
It is we , WE THE YOUNG FACE OF INDIA , who can bring any change to this country f our at least as a token of grtitude to those great personalities ho had had great dreams about India !
