MARTYR'S DAY - "INQUILAB ZINDABAD" .......

TODAY - 23RD MARCH - MARTYR'S DAY - DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF ONE OF THE GREATEST FREEDOM FIGHTERS, BHAGAT SINGH

The aim of life is no more to control the mind, but to develop it harmoniously; not to achieve salvation here after, but to make the best use of it here below; and not to realise truth, beauty and good only in contemplation, but also in the actual experience of daily life; social progress depends not upon the ennoblement of the few but on the enrichment of democracy; universal brotherhood can be achieved only when there is an equality of opportunity - of opportunity in the social, political and individual life." — from Bhagat Singh's prison diary

Bhagat Singh  (28 September 1907 – 23 March 1931 ) was an Indian freedom fighter, considered to be one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. He is often referred to as Shaheed Bhagat Singh (the word shaheed meaning "martyr").

Bhagat Singh was born into a Sandhu Jatt family to Sardar Kishan Singh Sandhu and Vidyavati in a village in the Lyallpur district of Punjab. His ancestral village is the Khatkar Kalan village near Banga in Nawanshahr District of Punjab.

He was attracted to anarchism and communism. Both communism and western anarchism had influence on him. Bhagat Singh did not believe in Gandhian philosophy and felt that Gandhian politics would replace one set of exploiters with another. Singh was an atheist

In search of revolutionary groups and ideas, he met Sukhdev and Rajguru. Bhagat Singh, along with the help of Chandrashekhar Azad, formed the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army (HSRA). The aim of this Indian revolutionary movement was now defined as not only to make India independent, but also to create "a socialist India.

On 15 April 1929, the 'Lahore Bomb Factory' was discovered by the Lahore police, and the other members of HSRA were arrested, out of which 7 turned informants, helping the police to connect Bhagat Singh in the murder of J. P. Saunders. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev were charged with the murder. Bhagat Singh decided to use the court as a tool to publicise his cause for the independence of India. The case was ordered to be carried out without members of the HSRA present at the hearing. This created an uproar amongst Singh's supporters as he could no longer publicise his views.

While in jail Bhagat Singh maintained the use of a diary, which he eventually made to fill 404 pages. In this diary he made numerous notes relating to the quotations and popular sayings of various people whose views he supported. Prominent in his diary were the views of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. The comments in his diary led to an understanding of the philosophical thinking of Bhagat Singh While in the condemned cell, he also wrote a pamphlet entitled "Why I am an atheist", as he was being accused of vanity by not accepting God in the face of death. It is also said that he signed a mercy petition through a comrade Bijoy Kumar Sinha on 8 March 1931.

Bhagat Singh was known for his appreciation of martyrdom. His mentor as a young boy was Kartar Singh Sarabha. Singh is himself considered a martyr for acting to avenge the death of Lala Lajpat Rai. In the leaflet he threw in the Central Assembly on 9 April 1929, he stated that It is easy to kill individ After engaging in studies on the Russian Revolution, he wanted to die so that his death would inspire the youth of India which in turn will unite them to fight the British Empire.
AT THE AGE OF 23, IF ANYONE WAS SMILING JUST BEFORE HE WAS BEING HANGED TO DEATH, IT WAS BHAGAT SINGH

This man's only mission in life was to see his country free from British rule. He did his best and when he was being led to the gallows, he was satisfied that he had lived up to his principles, irrespective of the consequences. The only thing that made him sad was that he couldn't do more for his country.

This, friends, is the legend of India’s ever lasting [ in memories ] freedom fight BHAGAT SINGH who gave his blood in order to let mother India have a bright future, In order for us to have a bright future !!
I’m proud to be an Indian because I can always point my finger at leaders like him and say that HE is the son of Mother India and WE are his heirs ……………

SATHYAMEVA JAYATHE ....

सत्यमेव जयते -NATIONAL MOTTO OF INDIA

It is inscribed in Devanagari script at the base of the national emblem. The emblem is an adaptation of the Lion Capital of Asoka which was erected around 250 BCE at Sarnath, near Varanasi in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, but does not contain the motto. The origin of the motto is a well-known mantra 3.1.6 from the Mundaka Upanishad.
The full mantra as follows:

satyameva jayate nānṛtaṁ
satyena panthā vitato devayānaḥ |
yenākramantyṛṣayo hyāptakāmā
yatra tat satyasya paramaṁ nidhānam ||

In Devanāgarī:
सत्यमेव जयते नानृतम् सत्येन पन्था विततो देवयानः ।
येनाक्रमन्त्यृषयो ह्यात्मकामो यत्र तत् सत्यस्य परमं निधानं ॥

Meaning:

Truth alone triumphs; not falsehood.
Through truth the divine path is spread out by which
the sages whose desires have been completely fulfilled,
reach where that supreme treasure of Truth resides

POLITICS AND INDIA

As per my views, India’s greatest problems till date are the following
1)      Corruption
2)      Illiteracy
3)      Less dedicated countrymen
4)      Dirty politics
5)      Poverty

And in this post we will be discussing about what all the planning commission should do in order to develop an India which, even in a dream, will not be pictured as a country with all the above mentioned troubles.

First of all if you go through what the planning commission has done till date you will find that it never has done anything to improve the political system.
It was always the priority to improve the infrastructure and agriculture system but the commission has never shown interest in schemes that will help in the development of the country’s overall structure. It was, till last session, concerned more about environment, good sanitation and economic growth and I may also say it has performed well. Now it is time to look into the political structure by improving which the country can become real power!

The first step to be taken for the improvement of political structure is by ensuring a corruption free political system. I realize that corruption is a type of cancer that can destroy a country completely but this type of cancer does have a cure and this can be attained only by removing this cancerous part in ourselves, first! We always blame only politicians, Police, Civil service officers!!! We are so blind that we never analyze the presence of this cancerous part in ourselves!

We hardly realize but we support corruption in our day to day life!
We support it when we give bribe in the name of donation to your children’s school management so as to retain your child even after the poor performance he has given!
We support corruption when we apply for ‘tatkal’ because you cannot stand in the queue!
Or maybe because we cannot afford to lose a day’s wage!
We support corruption when we pay for getting LEGAL things done!
We support corruption when we pay so as to get things done in a faster rate!!
This is just a short list!!

What we need to understand is that these things that you are doing will turn against you at some point in your life!!
If you do try to cure this cancer you will be the ones who will suffer! Not the person who receives the money from you!

And once we demolish corruption from ourselves we can start thinking in a much higher level!
We can think how we can treat this cancer [corruption] in a large scale! We can think of changing our political system!
It is sad but a solid fact that today’s India’s Young and efficient population is not interested in Indian administration. All the personalities in our ministry are aged which makes work even slower!
When even a small job requires some qualification and the person has to retire at a certain age then how someone can be allowed to hold a ministry and run it??
Firstly we should toss out all the current fraudulent politicians and should ensure that the people who contest for elections are young and highly educated and the qualifications do not include rape, murder, theft etc. We should also see to it that the people who stand for elections are really concerned about our Mother India and her children.
Lastly we should also ensure that all citizens vote at any cost!!

Once we have a clean political system steps could be taken to ensure that all corrupted money is returned back into the country and is used for developing beneficial ideas!

So friends, what I wanted to tell you was that politics is not what is really bad, it is the filthy politicians who make politics dirty! Never be afraid of raising your voice against unjust acts because if you remain silent they will get the better of you!! Do not forget, after all, they are living with our money and the power that they are holding is given by us!
JAI HIND !!

CAN WE REALLY BE PROUD OF BEING AN INDIAN ????

I am not yet fully proud of my country. I can only be proud when there will be nobody dying due to starvation, nobody uneducated because it is already more than 60 years of independence and the issue of poverty is still not solved. It is useless to talk about space exploration to people who cannot find food and medicine for themselves in spite of the hard work that they do.

‘Free India’ was a dream of all Indians under the British rule. Everyone during that rule fought in some way or the other with a common aim of ending British and other colonial authorities in India. After a century of revolutions, struggle, blood shedding, battles and sacrifices, India finally achieved independence on August 15, 1947.

India was free in 1947 from the British Empire but the country lost many men and women who were filled with undaunted courage and spirit of patriotism. Today, they are known as freedom fighters because they sacrificed their lives for their motherland.

Indian freedom fighters with their true spirit and undaunted courage had faced various tortures, exploitations and hardships to earn us freedom.

The pioneers of the freedom movement were Mangal Pandey, Tantia Tope, Rani of Jhansi and the great Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi who introduced non-violent ways of fighting the enemy. Other notable freedom fighters of India are Annie Besant, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bhagat Singh, Bipin Chandra Pal, Sukhdev, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Chandrashekhar Azad, Sarojini Naidu, Dadabhai Naoroji, Sucheta Kriplani and Chakravarti Rajagopalachari.

There are endless number of men and women other than the above list who daringly fought for India’s freedom.

It is true India got its independance from the British Rule but we are still being ruled by the corrupt politicians and babus who are sucking the blood of the poor in this great country... it is really sad that even after 63 years of Independencendance we have Kashmir burning, naxal wars where the poor naxals are having their land snatched by major corporate companies for mining and other reasons which are in no way benefitting the poor people.. Yes we are becoming a richer nation but only the rich people are becoming more richer and the poor are becoming more poorer... Our basic amenities are in a pitable condition, roads are full of pot holes, there is no place for poor patients in big hospitals, poor people are being uprooted from places where they have been living for ages in the cities and no alternative place is given to them for staying. JAAGO ,JAAGO,JAAGO INDIA, so much corruption is being found in the recent CWG games preparation that it brings the entire country to shame...

This is not the independance that our fore-fathers and our great freedom fighters had dreamed about... WE ARE STILL SLAVES OF THE CORRUPT POLITICIANS AND WE ARE NOT AND CERTAINLY NOT INDEPENDANT.....
It is we , WE THE YOUNG FACE OF INDIA , who can bring any change to this country f our at least as a token of grtitude to those great personalities ho had had great dreams about India !

SUCCESS OF INDIA AS WORLD'S LARGEST DEMOCRACY

Freedom in Mind,
Faith in Words,
Pride in our Heart,
Memo
ries in our Souls.
Let’s Salute the Nation on
...REPUBLIC DAY

In this post we ill be discussing about how we had framed this constitution and how and when did it come to command.
We will also be discussing the various issues faced by today and whether India, beyond doubt, is a democracy or not!

The Republic Day of India commemorates the date on which the Constitution of India came into force replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India on 26 January 1950.[1] The date 26 January was chosen to honor the memory of the [[ Purna Swaraj | declaration of independence]] of 1930. It is one of the three national holidays in India, and while the main parade, Republic Day Parade takes place at the Rajpath, in the national capital New Delhi, where the president views the parade, state capitals also have their state celebrations.
Although India obtained its independence on 15 August 1947, it did not yet have a permanent constitution; instead, its laws were based on the modified colonial Government of India Act 1935, and the country was a Dominion, with George VI as head of state and Earl Mountbatten as Governor General. On 28 August 1947, the Drafting Committee was appointed to draft a permanent constitution, with Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar as chairman. Unlike in Independence Day, Republic Day just celebrates the constitution.
A draft constitution was prepared by the committee and submitted to the Assembly on 4 November 1947. The Assembly met, in sessions open to public, for 166 days, spread over a period of 2 years, 11 months and 18 days before adopting the Constitution. After many deliberations and some modifications, the 308 members of the Assembly signed two hand-written copies of the document (one each in Hindi and English) on 24 January 1950. Two days later, the Constitution of India became the law of all the Indian lands. The Constitution of India came into effect only on 26 January 1950, 10.18 AM IST. Following elections on 21 January 1950, Rajendra Prasad was elected as the president of India. The Indian National Congress and other parties had been celebrating 26 January as a symbol of Independence, even before India actually became independent. Thus, signing the constitution on 26 January, to mark and respect 26 January and the freedom struggle and the freedom fighters.

Now onto some solid facts about India which makes us feel guilty while saying That India is always the best and will remain so forever

1- ) · Thirty-six per cent of Indians paid bribes to the legal system in 2006
· The estimated the amount paid by Indians as bribes to the legal system at about Rs 2,630 crore (Rs 26.30 billion).
· The majority of the bribes went to lawyers (61 per cent) followed by court officials (29 per cent) and middlemen (five per cent).
And this is just the legal system, which stands second to the Police Department. I guess the Police department bribery should be easily in the range of 4000 crores. If you take the macro view of the situation, corruption is hurting our economy more than anything else
2- ) The World Bank, which defines poverty as survival on less than $1.25 per day, says India reduced poverty from 60% of the populace to 42% between 1981 and 2005, but says the country still accounts for one-third of the world’s 1.4 billion poor people. 43% of Indian children are malnourished, a third of the world’s total. Over 35% of Indians are illiterate, and more than 20 million children are out of school.
THESE 2 ARE THE TWO MAJOR FACTS WHICH CAUSES DIS REPUTATION TO OUR MOTHER INDIA
POVERTY AND CORRUPTION!
AND NOW, HERE ARE SOME SIMPLE THINGS AND A BIT HARDER ONES, BY DOING WHICH YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE MISSION
A DREAM INDIA WITH NO TRIBULATIONS!

NOW LET US TAKE A JOURNEY THROUGH OUR FIRST POINT
It is not easy to define corruption. But in a narrow sense, it is mostly concerned with bribery and it takes several forms. Corruption exists all around and is rampant in our society. At one time bribe was paid for getting something illegal done but now a bribe is paid for getting something legal done at the right time.
The causes of corruption are many and complex, but here are some:
— Tolerance of people towards corruption
— Complete lack of intense public outcry
— Absence of strong public forum to oppose corruption
Election time is when corruption is at its peak. Big industries fund politicians to meet the high cost of election and ultimately to seek personal favours. Bribes to politicians buy influence and bribery by politicians buys votes in order to get elected.
Right to Information Act empowers the citizen to ask for information they want, barring confidential information of national security. This should be made use of by the general public as and when required.
Stringent action against corrupt officials will certainly serve as a deterrent. It may not be possible to root out corruption completely at all levels but it is possible to contain it within limits. Honest and dedication people in service and control over election expenses could be the most important prescription to combat corruptions.
Corruption has a corrosive impact on our economy. We have tolerated corruption this long. The time has come now to weed it. So try to avoid paying bribe for getting something legal done! Let us raise our voice against this corrupt system! we claim ourselves to be free but we are not free as long as we are under the clutches of this corrupt government! As long as the rich controls the poor! As long as we do not raise our voice!

NOW LET US TAKE A JOURNEY THROUGH OUR SECOND POINT
Poverty, today in India, is the one of the burning issues.
Poverty is state in which one cannot even buy food for himself and the major reasons for this situation are 2
ILLITERACY & UNEMPLOYMENT

We can even name it a cycle because poverty leads to illiteracy and it in turn leads to unemployment and again the result goes back to poverty!
There are many simple things that we could to help these poor
The first and foremost thing is that whenever you waste even a grain of rice, remember those poor children in the slums who dream about a piece of stale bread
When you stamp your new dress just because it is stained or maybe because it is not of your favorite color  ,think of those true children of mother India who wish for a piece of sack …………………….
If I want to continue then there will be no stop
So friends what I wanted to tell you was that, before wasting anything think about those living in slums dreaming for many things that we take for granted
By doing this you will be serving mother India with one of the best services ever!

AND FRIENDS I HAVE ONE LAST REQUEST TO YOU
TOMORROW IF YOU FIND A PIECE OF PAPER OF OUR INDIAN FLAG LYING IS A PLACE WHERE IT OUGHTN’T BE THEN PLEASE DO PICK IT UP!!
ONCE AGAIN WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY
JAI HIND !!

THIS IS WHAT WE GIVE TO OUR MOTHER INDIA !

APJ Abdul Kalam at Speech1
Why is the media here so negative?
Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements?
We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?
We are the
first in milk production.

We are
number one in Remote sensing satellites.

We are the
second largest producer of wheat.

We are the
second largest producer of rice.

Look at Dr. Sudarshan , he has transferred the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit.. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters.
I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news.
In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime.. Why are we so NEGATIVE? Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? We want foreign T.Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology.
Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize that self-respect comes with self-reliance? I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is.. She replied: I want to live in a developed India . For her, you and I will have to build this developed India . You must proclaim. India is not an under-developed nation; it is a highly developed nation.

YOU say that our government is inefficient.
YOU say that our laws are too old.
YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.
YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke. The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination.

YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.

YOU say, say and say.. What do YOU do about it?
Take a person on his way to Singapore . Give him a name - 'YOURS'. Give him a face - 'YOURS'. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are.. You pay $5 (approx. Rs.. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status identity… In Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU? YOU wouldn't dare to eat in public during Ramadan, in Dubai .. YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah.

YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds (Rs..650) a month to, 'see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else.'YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop, 'Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost.'
YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand ..
Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo ? Why don't YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston ??? We are still talking of the same YOU. YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own. You who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground. If you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country, why cannot you be the same here in India ?

In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job. Same in Japan ..
Will the Indian citizen do that here?' He's right. We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility.

We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative. We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick a up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin. We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms.
We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity.

This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service to the public.

When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? 'It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons' rights to a dowry.' So who's going to change the system?
What does a system consist of? Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and the government. But definitely not me and YOU. When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr.Clean to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away.
Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England . When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.

Dear Indians, The article is highly thought inductive, calls for a great deal of introspection and pricks one's conscience too….. I am echoing J. F. Kennedy's words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians…..
'ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY'
Lets do what India needs from us.
